I should explain...

The title of my blog is Following Trooper's Lead.

This is Trooper!

Trooper is my heinz 57 dog. He is a mix of labrador and probably great perinese and who knows what else! He came from a farmer that I work for, who came into my office and set him in my lap and said "you look like you need a puppy!" He was just a tiny fluff ball at that point. Trooper has been my loyal companion since May of 2008.

Trooper gets to come to work with me every day and likes to lay under my desk and sleep while we are in the office. BUT his most favorite part of the job is getting to go outside and check fields all day in the summer. He gets to go and run and chase critters and smell all sorts of things and pee everywhere!  He has a ball.

He also will pull the stickers out of my jeans that get stuck there when we are out in the fields. Its mutual, I pull his out of his paw and he chews them out of my jeans. You can see him doing it here!

So the point of the title of the blog is this, Trooper is one smart puppy! 

He only eats when he is hungry and stops when he is full!

He LOVES to walk and run and play! Even when he has had a big day he still begs to walk!

He is so happy all the time to see people! (well most people)

He drinks water like its going out of style (and still loves milk too)!

He knows to avoid things like wasps (but hasnt figure out the differnce between cats and skunks yet)!

He knows that taking a nap does a body good sometimes!

He is very very excited to see his friends if he gets a chance!

He stretches every time he gets up!

SO really.. he does all these things that I SHOULD do! So I am going to try and follow his lead!

A few more things about Trooper...

The live a "ruff" life out at Dads house when we visit!

This is Hooley (Troopers little buddy) My sisters corgi! He thinks he is as big as Trooper!

Joker is the new guy on the block at Dad's House. They are all good buddies now.

Trooper also has LOTS of good "farmer friends" both man and dog. There are farmers who will ask where he is if he doesnt come to work with me! And there are farmers dogs who check the back of the pickup first thing when I go to see them to see if he is with me.

So thats Trooper in a nutshell! I love him and he is totally awesome!
